There’s the side everyone sees, with broken rocks at her knees and a side hidden from view, inhabited by a musical few. Folks that left the mainland behind, to start something on Filfla that remains largely, undefined. A sanctuary of sorts, a showcase of styles 'wild and free' - Fiflian DJs most people never get to see.
And just like that a dream is born. Milva Records takes flight with an intimate label launch party and artist showcase at @Vittoria_Wharf in Hackney Wick, London.
#Milvaforever
Massive thanks to all the DJs signed to our label who lined up alongside the pros to create a night we’ll never forget.
Kudos to our friends: @goodnaturerecords, @plusoneslondon & @typelessrecords
We are not big enough to host events for the masses, nor do we want to showcase the usual pros. We are here for the amateurs, part-timers, or undiscovered talents with a hidden side, just like Filfla.
Legends of the dressing up game, with many stories to tell. We encourage you to bring out your creative side.
For those who dare to cross shark infested waters and claim an niche of their own.
If you're a rare breed, we welcome you to Filfla. A mostly barren, uninhabited islet 4.5 kilometres south of Malta. The most southerly point of the Maltese Archipelago. The name is believed to come from felfel, Arabic for a peppercorn. Legend has it that a chapel existed here to provide a refuge to fishermen from the ferocious seas that sometimes rage here. Now we're a haven for all kinds of musical creatures and we exist to ensure it continues being protected.
